7th Annual Ancient Sounds Festival

Friday, September 2nd, 2022 – Saturday, September 3rd, 2022

Knox County Jug Stompers at Ancient Sounds 2021 Wild Blue Yonder at Ancient Sounds 2021

Join us at the Historic Ramsey House Friday, September 2nd and Saturday, September 3rd for the 7th annual Ancient Sounds Celtic and Appalachian Music Festival! Historic Ramsey House, sometimes referred to as the "old stone house", was known as a gathering place for the Fork of the River communities. Many of these first European settlers in the Knox County area, including the Ramsey's, were of Scots-Irish descent. During this festival, we aim to celebrate these rich musical traditions, which often began with Celtic roots and later blended into the Appalachian sounds we know and love today. In the spirit of this tradition, we invite you to gather with us and celebrate the "unofficial" end of summer on the grounds of the Historic Ramsey House!

This year, we've expanded! The Ancient Sounds Festival is now over two days! Check out more info below!
