Weddings At Historic Ramsey House

Nestled on 100 historic acres in East Knoxville, Ramsey House offers a beautiful wedding venue featuring a lovely historic home built in 1797.

These private grounds have an abundance of beautiful old trees, gardens, and open meadows to surround you on your special day. We offer a charming cottage for the bridal party and a rustic cabin for all the groomsmen, complete with comfortable furnishings and a full private bath.

Our indoor Reception Room can accommodate smaller events of up to 80 guests. A caterer-friendly warming and food staging kitchen, public restrooms, and free parking for guests is also included!

Amenities & Rentals

Our Event Center is handicap-accessible, equipped with two meeting rooms (varies with exhibit needs), high-speed Internet connection, caterer-friendly kitchen, and restrooms. The Event Center can accommodate up to 80 guests depending on the set up.

With over 100 acres available, planning any size outdoor event is possible. We work closely with local rental companies and caterers to provide you the best referrals for tents, chairs, and other needs. The historic home provides a lovely backdrop for any event and the abundant shade provides a cool setting in summer months. Parking areas are available at no extra charge. Alcoholic beverages are allowed with a licensed server and guests are free to use any service-provider they wish.

    Does Historic Ramsey House require a wedding planner?

    While we do not require our guests to hire a professional wedding planner/coordinator, we do recommened it! Wedding planning and coordination can be stressful, especially the day of your special day. We highly recommend Margaret Claire's Weddings & Events for your planning, design, and coordinating needs. We offer their services as an add on to all our packages. Historic Ramsey House does NOT offer wedding coordination or planning servies.

    Is Historic Ramsey House an indoor or outdoor venue?

    Historic Ramsey House is primarily an outdoor venue. All of our wedding ceremonies take place outside, and receptions are under a large reception tent. We do have an indoor reception room for groups of 80 or less (depending on the set up).

    How many guests can Historic Ramsey House accomodate?

    Our outdoor venue is suited for any sized group up to 300 guests. Our indoor Reception Room suits 80 guests or less depending on the set up.

    What time does my reception need to be finished?

    Historic Ramsey House asks that all events conclude by 10:30pm. For ceremonies later than 7:00pm, please speak with our Executive Director for approval.

    How do I secure my wedding date?

    We are happy to hold your date for 7 days. In order to secure your date, a contract must be signed and a 30% non-refundable deposit must be made.

    What is the deposit policy at Historic Ramsey House?

    A 30% deposit must be made in order to reserve your date. The remaining balance must be paid at least 60 days prior to the date of the event. The deposit is non-refundable.

    Does Historic Ramsey House have a required rental company?

    Rentals are included in our all our packages. After securing your wedding date with a deposit, we connect you with our partners at Anderson Party Rentals to customize the rental package to your needs. Should additional rentals be requried beyond your package, Anderson Party Rentals will bill separately.

    Does Historic Ramsey House require me to hire specific caterers?

    Historic Ramsey House allows any licensed and insured caterers.

    Can I have alcohol on the premises?

    Alcohol is allowed to be served at your event by a licensed and insured bartender. Proof of licenses and insurance must be presented to Historic Ramsey House prior to the event.
