Cherokee Heritage Day at Historic Ramsey House!

Come join the fun and games!!

In recognition of National Native American Heritage Month, Historic Ramsey House is hosting Cherokee Heritage Day on Saturday, November 5 from 10:00am - 5pm, rain or shine.

The day-long, family-friendly event features entertainment, education, and celebration through dance, storytelling, Native American music, crafts and food. Children will enjoy games, face painting and exposure to the Cherokee syllabary, the basis of written Cherokee language. Audience-interactive Friendship Dances are featured along with historical interpretations of Cherokee history and events with re-enactors in period costume.

The relationship between the Cherokee and the Ramsey Family is an historical one. This event will extend the relationship between these former neighbors in this major fund raising venue through interpretation of Ramsey history and the pioneering life style, which it created.

Put your name in the raffle for Cherokee prizes, and plan to tour the Historic Ramsey House while you’re here!

Cherokee Heritage Day tickets available at the door: $10 per person.

Co-sponsored by the Cherokee Historical Association of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Indian Nation and the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum.
